FAQs

What should I expect?
An initial consultation is always required. In this session we will discuss and begin to work with you immediately. Once we understand where you are and what is going on for you we will then begin to slowly work into what is happening for you. Every case is different and it can typically take a few weeks before more noticeable changes are observed or felt. We do aim to change the energetic patterns immediately. Depending on the complexity and the response of the session, as well as the persons ability to heal, we can then begin to understand the requirements for the intensity and frequency of sessions.

How do I prepare for a treatment?
For the first session clients should be prepared to share their medical history, which can include, bringing any relevant medical results including blood tests, results, and scans. The more information that is provided, the more we can help.

For the session itself, loose fitting clothing or shorts are ideal. This is so you feel relaxed and comfortable during the bodywork (manipulations/massage/release movements). All sessions will include massage so please consider attire and ease of removing clothing to support this.

We also advise the following self-care before, during, and after sessions
- Ensure sure you are well-hydrated
- If possible, arrive to the session time 10 minutes before and take time and space to bring yourself into the present moment. This is good practise and ensures your mind, body, and energy are in a place where you want them to be. Intention is powerful!
- Before the session ensure you are as rested as possible. This allows us to work at deeper level rather than pulling on your energy reserves just to restore balance. The mind also adapts quickly when we are in that space.
- While waiting for the session to start allow 5 minutes to ground yourself and release anything that you are carrying. We can then continue in the session.
- During the session try to relax and unplug from the outside world. Phones should be on silent or flight mode.
- Try and leave as much time as possible afterwards to allow for integration. 1-3 hours is ideal.

Does it really work?
Yes. For almost all conditions there is an active course for healing. This is dependant on the condition, symptoms, severity, and the person.
Acupuncture alone is recognised by the World Health organisation (WHO) as a treatment for most of these conditions. This is without the additional layers of healing that we include in every session.

Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are very very fine and created from a very robust metal. They are finer than the gauge of a hair yet still have the flexibility to bend into a tight circle. Very specialist. This is to ensure the practioner can accurately pinpoint the communication centre in the body where dysfunction is occuring. They also take into account the need to move with the body, which is why they are designed to band and will not break. They are typically painless and patients often report a great sense of relief or relaxation during, and, after the treatment. Some patients report feeling slight pressure as the needle penetrates the skin but that sensation usually fades within a few minutes. They are nothing like an injection. Sometimes minor bruising can occur and is rare, but this is usually determined by the baseline of a person's health. Alternatives that are not as effective but still have a positive affect can be accomodated for in this instance.

What should I expect after the session?
Immediately after the session there are a number of things you may experience. Any new pains, tingles, sensations, extremely short moments of absence (rare), are simply the nervous system re-calibrating, adapting, and returning to homeostasis. It is important to remember that this is the underpinning consciouness that is there to keep us alive working it's magic. Allow it to what it needs to do and return you to your optimum. If you still feel unsettled find some space in your day to be still and let your body what it know it needs to do. Then continue with your day. Clean un-processed foods and ensuring you are drinking plenty of water (2-3 litres a day) is always advised to support this process.
